McQueens Flowers Ltd

The Courtauld is delighted to announce the support of McQueens Flowers as a Founding Partner, enabling the vibrant activity, research and practice of Dr Alexandra Gerstein, now the McQueens Curator of Sculpture and Decorative Arts and associated programmes Illuminating Objects and Sculptural Processes Group.

This partnership is the result of the vision of McQueens Flowers to be a vehicle for story-telling, for the underpinning of academic pursuit in their designs and their ability to illuminate the humble flower into the extraordinary. This ethos poetically aligns to The Courtauld’s Illuminating Objects which each year invites two students from disciplines unrelated to the arts to interpret the small, the sculptural, the unusual objects in The Courtauld collection. After a dedicated period of research and analysis their chosen piece becomes a single-object exhibition to be illuminated for all. To celebrate this exhibition, McQueens Flowers offers a parallel residency where one of their alumni has the opportunity to respond to the exhibition with a new floral design.

McQueens Flowers have been creating beautiful and memorable designs since 1991, building a reputation as a leading international school of floristry design. With creative studios, workshops and schools in London, New York and Seoul – and more international cities underway, McQueens Flowers is a truly global affair, with customers in Mexico, USA, Japan, France, Korea, Kuwait, Singapore, Hong Kong, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Spain & Australia. They have also been the proud floral provider for Vanity Fair’s Oscars After Party for the last 25 years, along with the All England Lawn Tennis Club’s Wimbledon Champion’s Ball and the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards.
