Our Vernon Square and Somerset House buildings will be closing in light of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak – find out more here.
The third floor Common Room, which provides a communal space for students and staff to relax and eat, will be home to an exciting new concept for The Courtauld. A self-service ‘micro-market’ will be available to staff and students at all times and will provide a broad range of products including healthy-eating options such as fresh fruit, salads, nuts and heat-up meals including noodles and soup.
The micro-market is a “smart system” which allows us to quickly adapt food and drink ranges to suit the tastes and trends of The Courtauld community, and to ensure that diverse and popular choices are well covered. Food will be replenished daily, with new options introduced regularly.
A barista-standard coffee machine will be available at any time of the day or night, with a range of traditional and non-dairy milk options.
Payments are cashless (either via a pre-paid account accessible through an app, or contactless and chip and pin – no cash transactions are involved). You can simply help yourself to the products you want before paying quickly and easily at a self-service scan kiosk.
For those who wish bring their own food, microwaves, fridges and other equipment to support self-catering will be provided.
