Seeing/ Hearing: Music for Museums
Featuring performances and talks by Nerissa Taysom and Charlotte de Mille
The visual arts and music are often regarded as media that dispense with words. They provoke alternative senses of seeing, hearing and touching, and intuitive, subjective and empathetic modes of perception. Arguably for these arts to take on language is to become multi-media, expressing a desire to be or ‘say’ more than one media could alone. With live music performed in the galleries and case studies from recent projects, we will explore how art history and music meet can meet in the museum space.
