The Courtauld to host ARTiculation 2020 London Regional Heat
ARTiculation, the national public speaking competition, which promotes and supports young people to look, think and speak about art, will hold a London Regional Heat at The Courtauld Institute of Art on Tuesday 14 January 2020, 2:30 – 5pm.
ARTiculation is the Roche Court Educational Trust’s internationally acclaimed initiative which champions students, aged between 16 – 19 regardless of background and experience, providing a platform on which students can develop their confidence and ability to express their opinions, thoughts and ideas, through the arts and public speaking. Over 1,000 students enter The ARTiculation Prize in England every year.
The Regional Final will see students aged between 16 – 19 deliver ten-minute presentations about a work of art, architecture or an artefact of their choice in front of an audience and an adjudicator.
Dr Emily Mann, Early Career Lecturer in Early Modern Art, will select one student to go through to the London Final at National Gallery in London on Fri 28 February, 1.30-4.30pm.
The London Final will be adjudicated by Dr James Fox, art historian & broadcaster. He will select one speaker to go through to the Grand Final.
The Grand Final will be adjudicated by Courtauld alumnus Sir Nicholas Serota CH, Chair, Arts Council England.
The schools taking part are: Ashcroft Technology Academy, Emanuel School, Greycoat Hospital School, Highgate School, Latymer Upper School, North London Collegiate School, Riverside School, South Hampstead High School, St Michaels Catholic Grammar School, Wallington County Grammar School.
